Hi, I will be including Liturgical activities in our homeschool and would like to know if anyone could recommend a good book I can use. I have preschoolers and a middle schooler (nice mix, eh?)

We are a traditional Catholic family (Latin Mass goers), but also attend the Novus Ordo. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe some good websites as well? Any and all suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless, Erika :)

Catholic Heritage has "A Year with God" which has lots of great activities and projects. We also like Cay Gibson's "Catholic Mosaic" which is a literature based look at the Liturgical Year. You could probably find a lot of the titles at your library. I have opted to buy a lot of them so I have them for years! Good luck, and try not to burn yourself out. The possibilites that our beautiful church has to offer can be overwhelming!! ;)
Thank you, Amy! I've heard of the Catholic Mosaic one...I'll check Amazon for it...and I do know what you mean about burning out...I'm going to incorporate the liturgical activities into our music, religion, and art so that it's not something else we are doing. But I do appreciate your pointing that out, especially for me that I like to overdo it sometimes! ;) Thanks a bunch, Erika
I was trying to incorporate the Liturgical year into our homeschool and came upon this wonderful resource of resources:

There are actually so many resources on that PDF that it's a bit overwhelming. A few from that list I would recommend:

Most any book by Ann Ball:

Ball, Ann. Catholic Traditions in Cooking, Our Sunday Visitor, 1993.
____. Catholic Traditions in the Garden, Our Sunday Visitor, 1998.
____. Catholic Traditions in Crafts, Our Sunday Visitor, 1997.
____. Encyclopedia of Catholic Devotions and Practices, Our Sunday Visitor, 2002.
____. Catholic Traditions in the Home and in the Classroom, Our Sunday Visitor, 2005.

The Seton Art Book for 1st grade is great for liturgical projects. I use it for a 4th and a 2nd grader (but it could be adapted for middle or preschool).

I also really like the website Catholic Cuisine: http://catholiccuisine.blogspot.com

I used several other books in the past but after you get a few of these books you start to get your own ideas and don't need to rely on them anymore :).
There is a wonderful forum of Catholic women who share ideas on celebrating the liturgical year in the domestic church. The address is: 4real.thenetsmith.com The board was founded by among others, Elizabeth Foss, who also contributes to Faith & Family Live. She has been a guest on several of the F&F podcasts.

Before you purchase a book, I would spend some time at the 4 Real forum. The feastandferia website Angele mentions is the blog of one of the moderators on the 4 Real board.

Good luck! I have found that picking a few important days throughout the liturgical year to celebrate at home has been very meaningful for our family.
Erika,
We are also what you would call a traditional Catholic family, although we attend the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (& the occasional Tridentine Mass when it is offered in our area). Like the others said -- there is literally no end to the rich liturgical traditions from the ancient patrimony of our Catholic Faith! I second all the recommendations already made, & add a few more for you to check out if you'd like:

A great book for living the liturgical year from the perspective/spirituality of the Eastern Catholic Churches is "A Guide for the Domestic Church":

May God bless you & your family as you live out the liturgical year in your domestic church (we like to think of our home as the domestic monastery)! :o)
Thanks everyone for the lovely replies and the rich ideas, sites, and recommendations! I do feel like I now have a well of sources to start with. I do like the idea of limiting things, especially the first year we try this. Thank you so much! HUGS, Erika

I didn't know there was a F&F podcast!

Where can it be found?  It is on itunes?
