Last week I went to a new salon for a cut and color.  It was great!  Quiet, stylish, and very relaxing!  They even made me a cappuccino!  I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and liked the cut and color too.  So, what's the problem?  It cost twice as much as the other salon I was going to.  So, the questions is, "Is it ok for Mom to pamper herself?"  The expense would not break us, but it would probably take away from some items we are saving for.  I am a stay at home Mom and don't do too much for myself, but when I think of the expense for this, I am not quite sure it is worth the money.

It is ABSOLUTELY ok!! And it should happen. "When Mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy". You work HARD and deserve some pampring. If you think the money is too much, only do it a few times a year rather than for every cut.

Good for you!!!
I agree with Gretchen that it's absolutely ok and a little bit of pampering is a nice deposit into your emotional bank.
Sue - I think that it is fine for Mom to pamper herself.  Enjoy this.  If the cost bothers you limit the times that you go to this high-end salon.  Lynn
Saving is important, but so is living in the present moment.  It's all about balance.  If saving a little less means you enjoy your days more than do it!  There are many worse things you could do to pamper yourself than I haircut. :-)
It is okay!  I just did the same thing...had my hair cut and highlighted and spent about 2 1/2 hours at the salon.  It was nice to be taken care of and the price was worth it!  Plus dh thought I looked great!
