Just have to share this beautiful homily on the Cross the Pope gave in Cyprus over the weekend.
Attaching a fun photo from the trip, too. This is a Sufi mystic who came to an ecumenical meeting.

I think we need some B16 visuals, too. Here's one for Lent

B16 fans, if you'd like a profound meditation on reconciliation and forgiveness this Lent, look at Benedict's Christmas greeting to the Roman Curia, scrolling down to the portion on the African Synod. Beautiful!

I just heard on the news that Pope Benedict broke his wrist. Please pray for him.

Got through chapter one of the encyclical and found that I shouldn't have attempted it while nursing a headache! It's not light stuff. Does the Vatican offer Cliff Notes?!

I just got back from Rome, where my husband and I prayed the Angelus with Pope Benedict. So cool and inspiring! Just thought I'd share my fun experience!

Here are some of my favorite parts of the new encyclical:

"In every truth there is something more than we would have expected, in the love that we receive there is always an element that surprises us. We should never cease to marvel at these things."

"All of our knowledge, even the most simple, is always a minor miracle."

I've only skimmed it but I love it already!

I've posted some of my fav quotes on my page via twitter... since I posted as I read the doc, (you have to read from last post (end of encyclical) to first post (beginning of encyclical). So, read 'em in reverse if you like!
