HI Maryann. . . So great to hear back from you! I am currently nursing my entire not-feeling-so-well family and so can't write for very long. But it's so so good to get back in touch with people I have not seen/talked to for a very long time, ie. people I last saw on the day I graduated from Magdalen, or rather on the day they graduated :) Your children ( all boys?! ! ! what fun; I have all boys too, as of today, actually we don't yet know if our third will be a boy or a girl, we will find out in a few weeks). California is great; I used to think the state was the pit of decadence, but I LOVE it here. We live north of SF by about an hour and our CG base is in the middle of cow country. Our base is actually a working farm! So beautiful. And in Santa Rosa, I have lots of really great Catholic friends, great women who are so dedicated to their faith and have large, sprawling families, just like the ones we see back east! :) Imagine that! ! ! And so we are doing well. If you EVER want to come out here for a vaca. with your family, we would love to have you. Our base housing is really small but there's a hotel of sorts here on base with rooms $30.00 a night. And we are minutes from Napa valley and we actually live in Sonoma county! If, that is, you like wine! I know Fr. VW from my brother and sister in law (actually Julie Asam , a graduate from Christendom) who belonged to his parish in V. Beach. Great , wonderful priest, one of the ones I really admire as so Christ-like, working themselves to the bone for souls. Anyhow, he baptized one of my nephews and blessed my one car I ended up giving to a friend in VA. I met his mom and brother Joseph. Excellent family; I am always so happy to meet people who are so dedicated to just being saints.
Please say hello to Fr. VW for me. If you see him; what parish is he in now? I have the chance to take my boys all over the place; more later as I am running out of room here and off to Mass. :) Jane

Maryann! ! ! It's Jane (Monette) Jones! I just joined the site. I have two little boys and am expecting my third baby on August 15! It's great to see your family picture here and I have read your articles in the Faith and Fam Mag. We live in CA; my husband, Christopher is in the Coast Guard. We love it here. How about you! How is life with the VanderWoude's? :) God Bless you and your family. Oh, I also know Father VW and read about your wonderful father-in-law. :)
