Have compassion, not indignation

Maybe its having a 3rd child that is incredibly cute.  I don't know.  Lately, I've had more women open up to me that they would like another child/more children but that their spouse does not want any. This goes for Catholic and non-Catholic women, alike.  And the majority of them do not have husbands 'unselfishly' getting a vasectomy.  Oh no, they are the ones on some sort of pill or implant.  They are the ones dealing with the side effects.  Some have been told they should not have any after…See More

And my husband is only half joking when he says I am open to life for the 2 day vacation, er, hospital stay, I get with a new baby.  I don't recall my mother or grandmother ever leaving us with dad to spend 2 hours at the local Starbucks.  I do not remember aunts and mom going on that monthly 'night out' .  My siblings and I never were in childcare while mom met weekly with others like her at church.  These ladies - for lack of 'liberated husbands' and money - did not have me-time.  And yet…See More
