Anger Management is Improving with New Approach and More Babies!

Dear Ladies, I write to you with great news!  Three things have contributed to my increased calm and patience in our home.  1) I have been working on my anger management issues through prayer about the specific problem area with the child, regular journaling/reflecting about how I handle the problem area and then practicing the improved way of parenting that I've deducted from the former. (I try to journal at the end of the day about how the day with the kids went well or wrong, and how I would…See More

Anger management

I am ashamed to admit that I am often impatient with my two older children (4 and 3). Some times I am guilty of being a terrible role model when it comes to containing anger or the virtue of patience. Does anyone have any tips on how I can hold back my strong emotions that come out when I'm frustrated or angry with my kids?

"I also get too angry sometimes. One thing I read in a book once has really stuck with me, though. When we as parents get angry with our children, the child has no where to go- no way in which he can appropriately respond. If the child gets angry…"

Tell us about yourself
Happy New Year! I am born again Catholic, a Navy wife and mother of five(5, 4, 2 and 8 month old twins--boy and girl). We are currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, far away from our close-knit family back east in the tri-state area. Faith and Family is my daily bread and I would be an internet time-squanderer if it weren't for their website. I hope to connect with other Catholic women and encourage each other in our journeys.
Blessings!
